Couch Cuddles

The chill that lived in the house was a persistent thing, seeping through the window frames and whispering up from the floorboards despite the thermostat’s valiant efforts. Gigi Sweets had succumbed to its creeping grasp and asked her stepdad if she could cuddle on the sofa. She shifted, her toes curling against the worn cushion, seeking a haven that wasn’t there. The sofa dipped beside her, and the familiar, solid presence of her stepdad settled into the space.

He was a bastion of warmth, a human furnace radiating heat against the encroaching  chill. Without a conscious thought, driven by a primal need for comfort, she leaned into him. Her head found the crook of his shoulder, the texture of his shirt a stark, grounding sensation against her cheek. The simple, innocent act of seeking solace from the cold was a familiar script they had played out a dozen times.

His arm came around her shoulders automatically, a paternal gesture of protection and comfort. It settled with a familiar weight, pulling her infinitesimally closer. This was the line, the unspoken boundary of their relationship—comfort, proximity, but nothing more. His thumb, calloused and warm, began a slow, absentminded sweep along the curve of her shoulder. She pulled his hands to cover her enormous tits to warm them, and he know right then that it was going to be more than just a cuddle.
